Stamp Out Hunger

Event Details: Neighborhood House is excited to once again be participating in the National Letter Carriers’ Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive on Saturday, May 11, 2024. This event is the nation’s largest one-day food drive collection. All food collected in the Rochester area that day will be donated directly to the Neighborhood House Food Pantry. If you’re a resident living in Rochester, Rochester Hills or Oakland Township and receive your mail through the Rochester Post Office, here’s how you can get involved on Saturday, May 11: Donate non-perishable canned food items. Leave your donation near your mailbox in the morning on May 11th. Look out for a mailer with a grocery bag and instructions in your mailbox the week of May 6th. If you do not receive a mailer, you can still donate by putting items in a bag of your choice. Click here to view the Neighborhood House Food Pantry wish list. Your letter carrier will pick up the items you leave. Volunteer to pick up donations alongside the letter carriers, drive trucks filled with food donations, load or unload food to and from trucks or sort items during and after the event. Spread the word to friends and family in the area! All food collected stays local, helping to feed families facing hardship right here in our community. Last year, the Neighborhood House Food Pantry provided over 330,000 meals to 528 families Click here for more information.

Great Lakes Bay Supplier Summit

Event Details: Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC), and a regional economic development partnership group including Bay Future, Greater Gratiot Development, Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, Middle Michigan Development Corporation, Midland Business Alliance, and Saginaw Future, are partnering on an event connecting Michigan based suppliers to procurement opportunities with private and public purchasing organizations located in Mid-Michigan. This event will be held on Monday, May 13 from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. in downtown Bay City.   The event will: Introduce local suppliers to procurement representatives from public and private organizations Educate suppliers on how to do business with participating buyers Connect suppliers to technical assistance available through a resource partner network There is no cost to participate though registration is required.

Event Details: PMBC is partnering with Southwest Michigan First and a regional partner group to host the 2024 Southwest Michigan Supplier Readiness event on May 21 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Firekeepers Casino and Hotel in Battle Creek. This event is designed to support small businesses interested in showcasing their capabilities to local buyers by providing them with a variety of resources that will enable them to put their best foot forward through: Accessing capacity-building resources   Preparing for procurement opportunities   Perfecting their pitch   Growing and maintaining supply chain relationships   The Summit will be open to all suppliers looking for support to become buyer-ready, with a focus on opportunities for local and diverse businesses. The event will include presentations on doing business with Southwest Michigan organizations, breakout sessions on supplier resources, and buyer-supplier networking. There is no cost to participate though registration is required.
